We’re delighted to announce an upcoming opportunity for those who want to connect with their Muslim neighbors. After our worship service, Lakewood UCC will be visiting the Islamic Center of Golden (619 19th Street, Golden, CO 80401). We’ll see the inside of a mosque, listen to the call to prayer live in Arabic, hear verses being recited from the Qur’an, watch the noon prayer (and try it if we want!), smell Arabian incense, taste Arabian coffee and Pakistani tea, and more! Anyone who wants to is free to arrange carpooling. Please bring a sack lunch, dress modestly, and remove your shoes upon entering the facility. We’d like to get a sense of how many people to expect, so those who are interested should sign up on the Welcome Center or reply to this email.
