“Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! Praise him with clanging cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!”
Music is right at the center of our worship. We love making a joyful noise to God. And we believe that God is so big that no one kind of music will do. On any given Sunday, our music ranges from traditional to contemporary, and might include anything from classic hymns to gospel and folk music. Oh, and we have a gorgeous eleven-rank pipe organ at the front of our Sanctuary! See below for some of our recurring music opportunities, then check out the latest news in the sidebar to the right.
Most often, we just call these folks “The Choir.” They’re our workhorses, leading the congregation in unfamiliar hymns and singing gorgeous “special music” offerings. We love what they add to our worship, and they report that they love doing it. If you’d like to join them (or any of our music groups), contact our Music Director.
Hand bells aren’t just for the Christmas season! They’re a beautiful complement to worship all year round. Our Bell Choir (also known as “C to Shining C”) generally performs the “special music” at one Sunday service per month.
“Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp!” says the psalmist. And, while we don’t often have lutes and harps available, we do just fine with guitar, violin, vocals, and more. Our choirs tend to perform more traditional pieces; our Praise Team helps out with contemporary worship.
