Care for Creation
What is Care for Creation?
Care for Creation is Lakewood UCC’s promise to our relationship to our incredible planet to work together to tackle issues of climate change, sustainability, and eco-justice in our own lives, in our neighborhoods, and around the world. Care for Creation is a committee focused on environmental justice, education, and advocacy within the congregation, the state, and the country. Anyone and Everyone are welcome!
Upcoming Ways to Get Involved
Summer is upon us with so much to look forward to: fresh watermelon, homemade lemonade, eating outside, going barefoot, concerts in the park and popsicles! While we enjoy summertime we will all be reassessing how we can Reduce what we use and buy, Reuse what we can and finally Recycle and Compost! Every effort we make matters, each of us doing all we can to make a difference.
Care for Creation has prepared our annual report for our Congregation meeting on June 12. We are keenly aware of the Climate crises and the damage to our Earth, and the importance of our Covenant to Care for Creation. The climate crisis is daunting, your dedication to our cause lifts us up and keeps us going, we are working together.
