FAITH TALK  1 Kings 6, 8: “Building the temple” Talk about the Bible story that that children explored this week. Here are some ways to nurture faith at home based on this week’s story. 1.    Read 1 Kings 8:22–23 as a prayer. 2.    The temple was a place of worship. Solomon spread his hands toward heaven to pray. Use your body to show different ways to pray. Prayer for the week: Thank you, God, for places where we can worship you. Thank you that you hear our prayers wherever we are. On most Sundays, pre-K through 6th grade children start in worship and then leave for Sunday School during the “Passing of the Peace.” Our volunteer teachers, or Spiritual Mentors, welcome the children into a positive, loving, fun, and safe space. Through age-appropriate arts and crafts, drama, creative writing, discussion and play that is grounded in Bible stories and spiritual practices, children encounter God, learn about Jesus, and begin the journey of discovering how to live as thoughtful and engaged Christians.
