Dying to Live Sunday, June 26, 10:15 a.m. Then Jesus, again greatly disturbed, came to the tomb. He said, “Take away the stone.” So they took away the stone. Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet bound with strips of cloth, and his face wrapped in a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Unbind him, and let him go.” from John 11:1-45 Imagine waking in the darkness, afraid and confused. Your hands and feet are bound. Something is wrapped around your head, making it hard to breathe. You flail and thrash, trying desperately to free yourself. Slowly, it occurs to you that something impossible has happened. You were dead, and now you’re not. And as terrifying as this is, along with it comes something you’ve never felt before. There. There it is again. It is, you realize, a sense of hope. Join us on Sunday as Rev. Jodi Bushdiecker preaches the painful, exhilarating experience of coming alive.
