The other will be in materials sent home (through snail mail) to families each month. Faith Formation Companions will attend one of the virtual training sessions to be equipped to lead in the virtual space and get up to date on safe spaces virtual policies. Please let Rev. Mollie know which training you’ll attend\, February 7\, from 1:00 pm- 2:00 pm or March 7\, from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm.

DESCRIPTION:February\, 17 11:00 am-1:00 pm and 4:00 -6:00 pm\nNeighbors and congregants\, newcomers and long-timers are all welcome for our drive-in or walk-up to Ashes 2 Go this Ash Wednesday\, February 17\, at Lakewood UCC\, in the parking lot. The imposition of ashes is a physical reminder that “from dust we have come\, and to dust we will return.” While seemingly somber\, this is a chance for us to be honest with God and ourselves\, we are here on this earth for just a short time and ponder how we will live. For the care and safety of all\, each person will receive ashes from an individual container\, masks are required\, and the pastors will be hand sanitizing between each person. Please reach out with any questions. We will offer a pre-recorded service on our YouTube channel (please link to our YouTube Channel)\, available anytime Ash Wednesday. SUMMARY:Faith Formation Comes Back to Sunday Mornings Once a Month!
DESCRIPTION:Faith Formation time for our elementary and pre-K kids is returning to a once-a-month Sunday morning time. We will be engaging in the Illustrated Ministry’s Beatitudes Curriculum\, all about Jesus’ words from the Sermon on the Mount (Blessed are the…).  We’ll have two lessons each month\, one will be through Zoom on Sunday morning\, with two Faith Formation Companions leading. The other will be in materials sent home (through snail mail) to families each month. The Sunday morning Zoom will happen simultaneously as our Sunday morning worship service. Our first Sunday morning Faith Formation Zoom will be February 21. A separate link will be emailed to parents and caregivers – please let Rev. Mollie know if you need the link.\nWe’re excited and grateful to continue to evolve and adapt to the needs of young ones and families\, as Faith Formation happens at church\, at home\, in the car\, and just about everywhere!

DESCRIPTION:Mondays from 6:30 pm- 8:00 pm\, Beginning February 22 – March 22\nThis year we’ll be reading “Sabbath As Resistance; Saying ‘no’ in the Culture of Now” by Walter Bruggemann. This is a short but important book about what keeping sabbath looks like as 21st century Americans. While many of us have seen life “slow down” during the pandemic\, we may not have thought intentionally about what resting means and how countercultural it really is.
