DESCRIPTION:Due to the important nature of this event happening in person\, we have decided to postpone this event until further notice. Please be alert for further updates. Thank you!\n\nLakewood UCC is excited to partner with the Center for Contemplative Outreach to offer an introduction to Centering Prayer on March 21.  Centering Prayer is a silent prayer and meditation practice that invites God’s presence and action within.  It is a very personal prayer practice but is often practiced in groups.  It opens one to God’s infinite love and power to heal\, and opens the door to other related prayer practices around forgiveness and dealing with painful situations and emotions. Join us to learn more about this simple\, receptive prayer method\, or to deepen an existing meditation practice.  All are welcome!  Let by the staff from the Center for Contemplative Outreach\, the workshop will be from 9:00 am-1:00 pm with registration and gathering starting at 8:30 am. Coffee and light snacks will be provided. Cost is a donation of your choice. Please sign up at the Welcome Center. Walk-ins are also welcome. Please see Rev. Mollie or Pastor Curt for details.

As well as small business micro-credit\, advocacy and resettlement for refugees and displaced persons\, and emergency relief and rehabilitation. SUMMARY:Listening Well\, Leaning In- Death Penalty POSTPONED
DESCRIPTION:Due to the importance of this event happening in person\, we have decided to postpone this event. Please be alert for further updates.\n\nThe Colorado State Senate recently passed a bill that would outlaw the use of the death penalty in the state of Colorado moving forward. The House will take up the issue later this year and Governor Jarod Polis has indicated that he will sign the bill if it gets to his desk. The Bible does not clearly come down on one side of the issue or the other. Please join us on Sunday\, March 29\, from 11:30 am-1:00 pm for a conversation about the death penalty. We know that this is potentially a controversial topic but feel strongly that talking to one another and listening to one another around difficult topics is important. There will be a sign-up sheet on the Welcome Center beginning March 8. If you have questions\, please contact Pastor Curt or Rev. Mollie.
