Otherwise\, all volunteers will park at Dennison Elementary\, located behind the Jeffco Stadium. You will NOT be able to access parking from the Distribution entrance on Kipling.\n\n \n\nDirections To Event and Parking:\n\n-Take Garrison Street south from Hwy 6 or north from Alameda\n\n-Turn west on 4th Ave\n\n-Follow signs to volunteer parking.\n\n-Dennison Elementary 401 Independence Street\, Lakewood\, 80226\n\n-Follow signs to volunteer sign-in\, in the cafeteria of Dennison Elementary School.  You will sign in\, make your name tag\, and join a quick volunteer orientation\, where you will meet your Team Leader.\n\n \n\nWhat to bring:\n\n-WE WILL BE OUTSIDE\, rain\, shine or snow!  Dress for winter conditions including warm layers\, jacket\, gloves\, and hat.\n\nFun costumes\, Bronco’s colors and Thanksgiving gear welcome!\n\n-Water bottle and snacks\n\n-Comfortable closed-toe shoes\n\n-A toy donation for our Santa Shop if you are able to! DESCRIPTION:As part of our work with the Lakewood Faith Coalition\, your Mission\, Outreach\, and Evangelism board is starting to develop a relationship with Deane Elementary School\, a Title 1 school in Lakewood. Of the many things Deane Elementary provides to its students and families is access to a food pantry. As our first effort to help Deane Elementary\, its students\, and their families\, we will be collecting donations for their food pantry on November 19 and 26. Items they are requesting include:\n\n 	Whole grain cereal\, like Raisin Bran\, Honey Nut Cheerios\, Granola\, etc.\n 	Creamy peanut butter\n 	One-minute rice\n 	Ranch dressing\n 	Buttermilk or similar pancake mix boxes\n\nIf you would like to donate to this cause\, please bring your donation to the church on one of those Sundays. SUMMARY:Second Wind Walk
DESCRIPTION:We hope you can join us and be part of our team for the Second Wind walk at Clement Park in Littleton. This fundraiser is especially relevant now with the recent teenage suicides\, the second leading cause of death for teenagers in Colorado. The 2nd Wind Fund was started to provide mental health services for the youth who are at risk for suicide\, especially those who can’t afford the treatment. The speakers and the Release of the Doves ceremony begin around 10 am\, followed by a 1.5 or 3 mile walk. After the walk\, there will be a barbecue lunch\, live music\, and silent auction. DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, September 15\, a group of Lakewood UCC adults and youth will head down to Alamosa\, CO for the weekend to volunteer at La Puente\, a mission that provides food and shelter for the homeless and those struggling to make ends meet in the San Luis Valley. We plan to do some crop gleaning on the farm\, food sorting in the food bank\, and cooking for the shelter. On the way home on Sunday\, we plan to stop at the Sand Dunes for some fun. Come join us for this inaugural trip to La Puente. The cost is approx. $50 each. Youth (13 or older) and adults are invited\, and we only have 5 spots left. DESCRIPTION:Ladies AND Gentlemen\, dust off your hats or pull out the lace gloves. Fellowship will be hosting a high tea on August 9\, at 2:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall at Lakewood UCC. There are rumors going around that some of us have beautiful and unique tea services\, so bring your favorite tea cups and saucers or tea sets to use or display. We will also have tea cups and saucers to use if you do not have any or do not want to use yours. Our guest speaker is Amy Young\, author of Love\, Amy\, sharing her amazing and sometimes\, harrowing\, stories about living in China for 20 years.
