DESCRIPTION:Due to the important nature of this event happening in person\, we have decided to postpone this event until further notice. Please be alert for further updates. Thank you!\n\nLakewood UCC is excited to partner with the Center for Contemplative Outreach to offer an introduction to Centering Prayer on March 21.  Centering Prayer is a silent prayer and meditation practice that invites God’s presence and action within.  It is a very personal prayer practice but is often practiced in groups.  It opens one to God’s infinite love and power to heal\, and opens the door to other related prayer practices around forgiveness and dealing with painful situations and emotions. Join us to learn more about this simple\, receptive prayer method\, or to deepen an existing meditation practice.  All are welcome!  Let by the staff from the Center for Contemplative Outreach\, the workshop will be from 9:00 am-1:00 pm with registration and gathering starting at 8:30 am. DESCRIPTION:Tuesdays beginning January 14\, 6:30 pm\nThis is an adult curriculum from the United Church of Christ designed to invite church members to engage in safe\, meaningful\, substantive\, and bold conversations on race. For five Tuesdays\, beginning January 14\, through February 11\, we’ll spend time in sacred and brave space learning and dialogue about race\, through the lens of White Privilege. We won’t be solving racism in five weeks\, as it’s systemic\, however\, this is an important first step in the commitment for allyship and racial equity. While the hope is that you’ll be able to attend all five sessions\, don’t let missing one or more keep you from this most important conversation.
