Wear your costume to worship\, then join us in the parking lot as we trick or treat from car to car (trunk to trunk). No sign up is required! There will also be a few crafts. We hope everyone can enjoy this intergenerational event!\nWe also need trunks and humans in costumes! Trunk or treating is when people gather in a parking lot\, decorate the trunks of their cars and hand out goodies as kids “trick or treat” from car to car. We will be spread out and encourage contactless ways of handing out treats. This will be a real treat for our families. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to be offering in-person\, in the sanctuary worship starting August 1. Worship will also be live-streamed\, for our congregation has grown beyond Colorado\, as well as making worship more accessible to those who may not be able to join us in person. You are still welcome to join us by streaming us live on YouTube HERE. Worship service will return to our regular 10:15am start time.\nMuch will be the same\, but a few things will be different:\n\n 	We are requiring masking for everyone\, regardless of vaccine status. This is out of an abundance of care for the community\, especially for our under 12 crowd who do not have access to the vaccine yet. \n 	We ask that you register HERE. This is to help us get a sense of how many folks to expect. If you forget to register\, please still come!\n 	August 1 is a Communion Sunday\, and we invite you to bring your own communion elements. We’ll have pre-packaged elements if you forget\, and for those visiting. \n 	We ask that you make an effort to stay socially distanced before\, during\, and after worship\n 	You’ll be greeted outside the front of the church\, and invited to get your name tag\, and a sticker (red\, yellow\, or green) that will help share you comfort level of physical contact – we’re all in different places on this for different reasons\, and that’s ok!\n\nIt will be wonderful to be in worship together\, and also may feel different\, as we’ve all changed a lot in the last year and half. DESCRIPTION:Let’s get off the hot cement and under the pine trees and in the shady\, cool\, courtyard for an outdoor\, camp-like setting for our July worship at 9:00 AM. People can park in the parking lot. Those that need close access to the area underneath the pines\, where most of the shade is\, can access this area by parking close to it. If you need easy access to the Courtyard\, you can enter through the front door and go through the Fellowship Hall. The usual courtyard chairs and tables\, or the church ones\, or bring your own. DESCRIPTION:Where: Lakewood United Church of Christ at 100 Carr St\, Lakewood CO 80226\n\n \n\nWhen: Saturday\, July 17\, 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm\nAfter months of being cooped up\, missing our friends and relatives\, lacking opportunities to exercise\, and not having very much fun\, now is the time for all of us\, young and old\, to have a great time and make new friends. This isn’t just any old neighborhood block party\, this one’s for recreation\,  renewal and rehabilitation. You know\, get those muscles moving again.\n\n \n\nSome highlights:  A bouncy house for the kids\, The corn hole toss\, A variety of other games for everyone\, and Music by Pennies On the Track\, featuring Lakewood UCC’s own Brian Good\nWhile  there’s no cost for the fun and games\, we will have a Sweet Cow Ice Cream truck available with a variety of ice cream treats costing you $4 and up. If you enjoy a scoop of vanilla ice cream\, or a root beer float\, or colorful sprinkles on your ice cream\, it’s available\, and Sweet Cow assures us it’s MOOlicious. Just bring some money with you.\nPLEASE JOIN US FOR THIS AFTERNOON OF FUN!

DESCRIPTION:On behalf of the staff and leadership of Lakewood UCC\, you are invited to attend a very brief Congregational Meeting on Sunday\, July 11 via Zoom to vote on a request from Church Operations that was missed at our Annual Meeting in June.  Below is the proposal.  Please review it and join the Zoom meeting after the 9:00am service on July 11 to discuss and vote on this proposal.  Thank you very much for your commitment to the life and ministry of Lakewood UCC.\nProposal: The Board of Church Operations is requesting that the Congregation approve the transfer of the remaining funds from the Ministry Campaign Fund ($13\,911) to a new capital improvement fund.  Our congregation raised the funds for the Ministry Campaign Fund with two goals in mind:  paying off the Church mortgage and hiring an assistant pastor.  Both goals were met and there is a balance remaining in the account.  \nThe Board of Church Operations would like to reallocate the $13\,911 remainder to a Capital Improvement Fund for future building projects and requests authorization for the Board of Church Operations to have the authority to make decisions regarding the spending of these funds on Church building projects.  \nThank you for your consideration.  We look forward to gathering together to discuss the generosity and joy of excess funds on July 11!
