Stewardship 2019

posted in: Uncategorized | 0

Sunday, October 28, November 4, and November 11

Here at Lakewood UCC we are truly blessed! We are a thriving congregation with many activities and opportunities to participate in the life of the church. This year’s stewardship theme is, “What Gifts Can We Offer?” I Peter 4:10 encourages us to “…serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.” We thank God for all of the many gifts we have among us and we seek to use them to serve the Lord through this church. This year’s stewardship campaign will be held on October 28, November 4, and November 11. Pledge cards will be dedicated during the November 11 service, and afterward, the Stewardship Committee will host a thank you luncheon for the congregation. Come join us as we discover what gifts we can offer and praise God for all of our blessings! Read the 2019 Narrative Budget.

Giving With Grocery Cards

May 6, 2018 @ 11:30 am - 12:00 pm

An event every month that begins at 11:30am on day First of the month, repeating until December 2, 2018

Remember, the First Sunday of every month we will be selling grocery cards. King Soopers and Safeway cards cost $10. You decide how much to put on the card, they are rechargeable, so once you develop the habit it is easy to use them. Sprouts cards are one-time use and come in denominations of $25, $50 and $100. Lakewood UCC will receive 5% cash back on all purchases made with these cards. Our goal is to get as many families as possible using the cards, so we will have a surplus of funds at the end of the year. We hope to have a bonus for Curt and who knows – if we do this right maybe all of our dedicated staff. Happy Shopping!

Today, projects are underway in more than 100 countries, including the US and Canada. Please use the One Great Hour envelopes to give to this offering.

Online Giving

Want to give to Lakewood UCC without the hassle of cash or paper checks? You’re in luck! We’ve set up a new system through Vanco that allows you to schedule a regular automatic withdrawal from your bank account that will go directly to the church. All you have to do is fill out an Online Giving Form on the Welcome Center and place it in the white dropbox outside the church office. If you have questions, contact Sidney Nelson. Oh, and half-year statements for everyone who pledges to Lakewood UCC are now available on the Welcome Center as well.

Carr Street Market

June 11, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Join us for the first ever Carr Street Market! We’ll be holding the mother of all yard sales in the church parking lot, with secondhand goods, antiques, food, music, a raffle, and much more. The proceeds will help us fund some of our big building and maintenance projects. You can help in any of the following ways:

  1. Donate new or gently-used items. Please, nothing broken or trashy! If you have something that would be a good candidate for a silent auction, please let us know in advance. Donations should be dropped off at the church Friday, June 10, 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. or 5:00-7:00 p.m.
  2. Rent a space to sell your own items. The cost will be $40 or whatever percentage of your proceeds you think is appropriate.
  3. Volunteer to help Pat Hayes with the herculean task of organizing and running this event.
  4. Come! And bring your friends! Bring your neighbors! Bring everyone you know!

Contact: Pat Hayes.
