The holiday season can be difficult for anyone grieving the loss of loved ones, who have challenging family relationships, who struggles with addiction, mental illness, health issues, and physical difficulties. It can be hard to feel joy in the midst of the painful realities of our world – COVID, war, climate crisis, cycles of poverty, loss of family gathering rituals, political divisiveness, and cries for social justice. The expectations of the season can be overwhelming, the memories of the season complex. Please join other weary souls on December 21st, 7:00 (Please reach out to Office@Lakewooducc.com for the Zoom link) as we gather in the community to express and acknowledge these differing emotions. And as we remember that it was into such a world as this, that God’s love took on flesh in Jesus, the one who Redeems us. Please have a candle ready for this special service.
