Exodus 32:1-14

In this week’s reading, we’re back to the Exodus story, a good and long one to be reading in the year 2020! The Israelites, still wandering in the wilderness, led by Moses and Aaron, seem to have a momentary lapse in judgement. They break a few of God’s commandments (no other Gods before me, no idols to be specific), and God isn’t exactly happy with them. And while Moses intercedes and talks God down from  wrath, it brings up a common question – why does the God of the Old Testament seem different than the God of the New Testament? How are we to reckon with the different understandings and telling of God’s ways? Join us for online worship this Sunday as Rev. Mollie preaches on looking at the big picture of the many names and understandings of God.
