Good News Sunday, January 24, 10:15 a.m. Jesus unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of the sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” . . . Then he began to say to them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” from Luke 4:14-21 There’s a lot of stuff in the Bible: 66 books of law, history, poems, songs, prophecy, stories, and letters, written over thousands of years by multiple authors. So how do we figure out what’s most important? How do we focus all the way in, on the center of it all? And what does the story of Jesus beginning his public ministry by reading from the book of Isaiah have to do with it? Hint: everything. Join us on Sunday as Pastor Curt preaches the heart of the heart.
