Wondering about the new banner that’s hanging above the front doors of the church? “Be the church. Protect the environment. Care for the poor . . .” What’s that all about? Well, it began in 2014 with a graphic that the United Church of Christ created for their Facebook page, summarizing what it means to “be the church.” The graphic was so popular that several churches asked if it could be made into a banner. It was, and now many UCC churches (and a few outside the UCC!) are displaying this message of welcome, justice, and love—including ours!
